 QUAMBY ESTATE ACCOMMODATION PACKAGE

Donated by Anthology

2 nights accommodation (double share), breakfast for two daily, and an 18 hole round of golf for two people.

QUAMBY ESTATE

Originally built in the 1830s, this magnificent homestead is currently being developed into a unique luxury lodge that will house 17 superbly appointed guest rooms.

Guest rooms are being impeccably restored in keeping with the home's original features, but without compromising modern-day luxuries. Modern bathrooms, luxury bedding and flat screen televisions are just a few of the new additions. The homestead also has a magnificent billiard room, drawing room and dining room. The modern kitchen is located at the rear of the building and the 3-room cellar below was once the convict workers' quarters.

Set in 64 hectares, Quamby Estate has a superb 9-hole golf course and is located 20 minutes drive from the city of Launceston. It is the perfect base for exploring Launceston and its surrounds; the historic townships of Deloraine and Westbury with their many art and craft shops are nearby; and the vineyards of the Tamar Valley, which are less than an hour's drive away.

 NIC GOODWOLF ARTWORK

Donated by Nic Goodwolf

Title: Future Catchers

Size: A2 bleed print on 280 gsm Hahnemuehle

Edition 12 e.v. with 4 AP’s
2 plate etching on aluminium
e.v. is: Edition variee’… (the edition is changing and not one print is exactly like the last.)

The work is a part of the body of plates, which is dealing with energy exploration. I have been working on this series for the last two years. The work is dealing with the human interaction in a global context. Energy and energy harvesting by societies not exclusive to the human race are pivotal elements in this current work. The harvesting of honey by colonies of bees are being explored in the same way the oil rigs, the hydro electric dams and the wind farms are made visible on my plates. The work is about strength of the human desire for innovation. It is about the power to succeed over and with nature and the drive to find balance between all players in this game.

Working on plates is a fluid process. I am challenging the technique so I have become a painter in my plates. I love to treat each individual work as a separate work and love to see each work as an individual work in a series of the edition.

 MILAN MILOJEVIC ARTWORK

Donated by Milan Milojevic

Artwork title : Terra Incognita
Size: 420 X 595 mm
Date: 2007
Medium: Digital / etching

Between Two Worlds: A hybrid practice.

Milan Milojevic is a first generation Australian of German / Yugoslav parents, whose work explores migration and cross-cultural upbringing. Hybridity has been a driving force, both conceptually and technically, behind his practice over the last twenty years.
Milojevic sources 18 and 19th century engravings produced during scientific voyages of discovery and then scans and reconfigures details to create new images. The creatures he creates in his prints reflect geographical, historical and cultural displacement. Milojevic in his sampling of traditional printmaking marks can seamlessly bring them together in what Max Ernst called a plane of consistency, where two or more incompatible realities meet. The prints he creates are printed digitally and then added to in layers using traditional printmaking media such as etching and woodcut, in this case over printing a wood block onto digitally printed images.

Terra Incognita is a different state of two prints from the Terra Frieze2, 2007
which is part of an ongoing series titled Between Two Worlds.
