The four red grapes of our St Matthias Vineyard are complemented by a surprising white in a finely crafted blend to illustrate the unique character of our Tamar Valley Vineyard. The warm vintage is reflected in the bouquet of fresh and deliciously berries, cherries and plums, French oak, tea leaves and sweet spices. Tasmania’s influence is evident in the medium weight, fine tannins and bight acid. Juicy sweet and sour berries, currants, plums and flavours are tinged by red petals and fresh herbs. Texture makes way for ripe grape and oak tannins. They inhabit every surface of the mouth. It’s generous and deliciously fresh. Beautifully integrated acidity lingers with more spices, berries and fresh citrus. Cellar for further complexity and decant in its youth flavours.
185 dozen made. This is in a class all of its own... textured and balanced, with a field of flowers in its flavour spectrum. 95 Points . —James Halliday, www.winecompanion.com.au, 6 October 2016
