Muse Riesling 2008

Drinking Guide

Drink 2010-2026

First planted at Moorilla in 1958, Moorilla’s signature white wine has been modelled around a dry European style and while drinkable in its youth it will benefit from bottle maturation. The nose on this wine highlights mineral and flinty aromas and balances them with citrus and floral undertones. The palate strongly reflects and lifts these characters with a crisp acidity that is typical of cool-climates. It displays a textural balance between wine and alcohol with natural acid levels. Great for enjoying immediately or cellaring, it matches well with food.

Vintage Description
Technical Details

This wine was made through the blending of a number of different parcels of fruit, fermented separately in an effort to create a distinctively complex and subtle end-result that fits well within the Muse range. This wine shows mineral and flinty characters balanced by citrus and floral undertones. It has been modelled around a European style and while drinkable in its’ youth it will benefit from bottle maturation. The fruit was sourced from both Moorilla owned and operated vineyards: St Matthias vineyard (West Bank, Tamar River) and the Moorilla Estate vineyard (West Bank, Derwent River). Both of these sites are of average yield with different clones and vine age. The fruit was left on the vine until flavour profiles showed an increase in perfume and floral characters before it was hand-picked. Due to the hotter vintage flavour ripeness was achieved with higher than average sugar levels.
