Planted from cuttings collected by Claudio Alcorso on holiday in Burgundy in 1963, the combination of our Pinot vines and site gives this wine a unique character. Our shallow soils, sitting on sandstone, have kept yields low, while the sea breeze slows flavour development. Picked at the height of perfumed floral flavours, this vintage has resulted in fine tannins and colours. Intensely perfumed and spiced nose, there’s a core of dark fruit at play with boardroom oak and a touch of fungal mushroom and earth beneath ready to reveal with the swirl of a glass. Intense flavours, bright and fresh, wild ferment driven texture precede an elegant body with super fine and plentiful tannins. They build in height, supported by a seam of acidity to a crescendo before descending hand in hand with a complex set of spring alpine red berry flavours
