Winter rains, gentle spring breezes, summer sun and a dry autumn helped create an ideal vintage. This is classical, understated and profound Pinot noir. Hand-picked at the height of flavour complexity, dark blue and black berries, cherries and plums introduce a classical fragrance of wild violets, tea, incense and sandalwood. Matured in French oak, there’s a seamless silky flow to the palate; the body is elegant yet generous, flavours are intense, tannins fine and bountiful and the acid is balanced. This wine will cellar very well; improving for the first five years, offering balance of young and mature flavours from five to ten, and a mature, genteel wine for the next five.
