Muse Sauvignon 2014

Drinking Guide

Drink 2015-2023

The Muse Sauvignon achieves elegance after short term cellaring. It is single vineyard wine made in the Bordeaux tradition, hence its French name Sauvignon. The bouquet is extremely complex: stone fruit and tropical fruit, mint, blackberry blossoms, lemon and lime and anise. The palate is light to medium weight with persistent flavours, perfectly balanced tannins and strong acidity indicating a wine determined to cellar. Cellar for 8-ten years with confidence and reap the rewards.

Vintage Description
Technical Details

Compared to earlier vintages, this wine is more similar to the 2010 in that it’s again suppler with more upfront fruit and improved oak integration. The continued inclusion of the top block provides acid lift. As with all our releases the 2013 shows the finesse and richness possible in cool climate Shiraz. With a huge reservoir of spice, fruit and floral elements that will continue to develop with maturation in bottle, we have continued to call it by its traditional French name, Syrah. The fruit was sourced from the Moorilla owned and operated St. Matthias vineyard, north-east facing on the West Bank of the Tamar River. The fruit was left on the vine until flavour profiles showed an increase in fruit/berry characters before it was hand-picked.
