Pinot noir 2012
A layered bouquet of muscat, smoked meats, prunes, and subtle herbaceous notes. On the palate, it reveals silky red cherry, forest floor, tamari, mushrooms, and hints of soft spice and early tobacco and fine velvety tannins. A long, structured finish and soft, smooth palette lends a subtle Christmas-like warmth here — nutmeg, clove, and orange oil — balanced with earthy depth and a touch of raisin. A red that is both rich and refined, showing the depth and precision Pinot noir can achieve over time in Tasmania’s standout 2012 vintage.

Winemaker Notes
A heavier and more robust style showing the principles of the Muse series. It was blended to show a balance between fruit derived and oak derived aromas and flavours. The result is a wine displaying fresh berries and spice with hints of tobacco and leather. Powerful, balanced and complex, this wine will benefit from bottle maturation. This wine contrasts to the Praxis in that there is a higher percentage of whole bunch ferments and carbonic maceration, the impact on tannin and texture is important in bottle maturability and food matching all typical of our southern vineyard.
