Syrah 2012
With a striking, rich, dark ruby hue in the glass, the Muse Syrah 2012 is a powerful, structured wine with notes of plum, smoked fennel, and clove on the nose. Smooth mid-palate weight, fine tannins, bramble, white pepper, and charred spice balance with a bright, crunchy, savoury acidity.

A cool-climate Shiraz that we continue to call by its French name, Syrah.
A perfect companion to rich game or venison.
Winemaker Notes
Compared to earlier vintages, this wine is more similar to the 2010 in that it’s again suppler with more upfront fruit and improved oak integration. The inclusion of the top block provides a little more acidity. As with the all our releases the 2012 shows the finesse and richness possible in cool climate Shiraz. It was a shame that 2011 which was such a strong vintage for us with most varieties didn’t quite bring us the chance to make a released wine. With a huge reservoir of spice, fruit and floral elements that will continue to develop with maturation in bottle.
